OAD awarded “Africa Partner Organisation of the Year 2016”

In a well attended Dinner and Awards night held at the Coconut Grove hotel in Accra on August 13, 2016, the Organisation for African Development (OAD) received an enviable award as the All-Africa Students’ Union’s (AASU) "Africa Partner Organisation of the Year 2016” in the 5th African Youth and Students Summit.

The event awarded influential personalities and performing institutions such as the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Dr. John Dramani Mahama and the African Union Commissioner, H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, the OAD and other Organisations. Receiving the award, the Founder and Executive Director of OAD, Mr. Bonaventure “Castro” Aguissi, expressed appreciation and thanked the AASU for acknowledging OAD’s effort over the years.

 

OAD took turn on stage to present the OAD-AASU Sustainable Peace Cup trophy marking the World Youth Day to the Southern African team as winner of the football competition that was organised earlier in the morning. OAD further honoured the Student delegates from all the five regions ofAfrica as OAD Sustainable Peace and Prosperity Ambassadors. The Founder and Executive Director of OAD called on stage the Head of Human Resource and Youth Development of African Union Commission, Ms Prudence Ngwenyato present OAD’s valuable Ambassadorial medal and certificate to the delegates from all over the continent who made it to the event. 

 

The FOODGOALS - AFAR Awards Initiative was presented at the ceremony with which students met with extreme enthusiasm. The Founder and Executive Director of OAD, Mr Bonaventure “Castro” Aguissi tasked the recipients of the awards to work impetuously to promote sustainable peace at all times in a manners that propels agricultural growth, food security and prosperity as Ambassadors in their various countries. He further encouraged them to be the continent’s change agents.
